The distant future 2019:
They came
Without warning, they slaughtered men, women and children across the planet. They hunted for months, feeding off our flesh and fear, delighting in the screams of the once proud human race. Cities were leveled and oceans were drained. The very core of the Earth seemed to lose its warmth by the hour.

They stayed
Once they believed they'd had enough fun, they moved into our world, claiming the Earth as theirs and establishing their own society on the bones of humanity. Had they eradicated us all? It didn't matter to them for they felt no remorse. A lion feels no guilt when it kills a gazelle. They had been fed and would now build new life on the ashes of the dead.

They will leave
We were not destroyed. We have been hiding beneath the surface, these long months, waiting liking a viper in the grass for our chance to fight back. We have grown stronger despite our losses. We have grown smarter despite our failures. We have grown together despite never being able to before. And we will take back our home, even if it means the end of the human race.
